To make this work, there have to be rules and expectations. Most should be common sense but as different people have varying values, standards and ideas it is necessary to clarify a few things.
Emphasis is on quietness. People come here to get away from the ‘rat race’ and spend time in a natural woodland. They don’t come to hear music or other unnecessary noise.
We ask people who come here to respect others around them, and not pursue any activities likely to disturb or interfere with the peace, quiet and privacy of others on site.
Dogs are welcome but need to be kept under strict supervision at al times.
We are happy for children to come but please be mindful that a woodland can be a very dangerous place for children, particularly the river. Children also frequently have difficulty using toilet, shower and wash rooms cleanly. If you bring children here they must be supervised and accompanied by their guardians at all times.
Sound carries at night in the countryside and so we have a rule of no playing of pre-recorded music however quiet. So no stereos, radios or anything using speakers at any time of the day or night. Acoustic guitars and harmonicas are most unwelcome especially after dark.
Bookings and Deposits
If you want to make a definite booking or check on specific dates then either send us an e-mail or use the ‘Bookings’ link at the top of the page. We can only take very limited numbers here and so booking with as much notice as possible is advised.
To take bookings we ask for a 50% deposit up front. This is normally most easily done using internet banking but we are able to process payment by card. The balance is payable on arrival. If you need to cancel your booking and you give us at least 14 days clear notice before your arrival due date, we will refund your deposit in full or move your booking to another mutually convenient date.
If you cancel with less than 14 days notice or fail to show on the day then you forfeit the deposit money.
